Josephine Elodie Marie LeBlanc born 18 Jun 1842 the daughter of Simon “Simonette” LeBlanc and Celeste Dupre. She married Augustin Colomb Broussard 30 Nov 1857 in Abbeville, Vermilion Parish, Louisiana.

She was recognized and rembered for her fine weaving, especially for what they called cottonade. She went to the “1893 World’s Columbia Exposition” in Chicago, Illinois to exhibit and demonstrate her weaving. Her daughter, Noemie Marie, went to represent “Evangeline” and her daughter Zuleme Eleonore went to represent Louisiana beauty. Elodie received awards for her exhibit and demonstrations. She also won a blue ribbon for an exhibit at the “Cotton Exhibit” (1893-94) in New Orleans, Louisiana. The award ribbon is in the “Christian Woman’s Exchange Collection”, which is now part of the Louisiana Collection at the Tulane University Library. Her picture is in the archives of the Louisiana State University Museum in New Orleans, Louisiana.
